and you went to buy milk but never came back ... 😂

Byno • 11 months ago

That ruined his whole perfect exit badassery XD

majaketrix • 11 months ago

in his defense, he was invited to a party 😂😂😂

Ban Tae Akiyama • 11 months ago

IKR!

Jibril • 11 months ago

Man if only SAO wasn't rushed and was like this originally, I would've enjoyed it more. Especially the romance wasn't something out of the blue.

Leo Aestron • 11 months ago

This showed the Light Novel [Original] Author actually did planned a throughout progressive story of their relationship development in Aincrad. There's stories behind it all to make it actually makes sense how they are connected that way.

ric • 11 months ago

i would have sat through 1 season per floor easily...ok maybe 2 floors per season....

AURON 2401 • 10 months ago

It definitely seemed like it could have been the case, yeah.

MOHAMMAD MAHDI MOHAMMADI • 11 months ago

the light novel sao progressive series is about to fix it, this is vol 5 of it ( it is still in aincrad and each floor has 1-2 vol) note: due to elf quest don't expect anymore of these or series of progressive before next 4-5 years

Fyrn Ebrithil • 10 months ago

what do you mean due to elf quest don't expect more for 4-5 years?

Donald Trump • 9 months ago

The author is working on another series.

By working on another series that means less time for SAO, unfortunately.

majaketrix • 11 months ago

yepp.. i love the lower floors storyline. ALO,gunglave, alicization sucks....

muuuH • 11 months ago

Seems like some people are confusing the Progressive series with the normal SAO Series.
While its retelling the Story of the orginal SAO, its also retcons quite a few stuffs. (Asuna and Kirito are meant to split after the 1st floor e. g.)
The Author always regretted skipping so much in the orginal SAO (1 of his big 3 regrets regarding SAO) and wanted to retell the story.
Not sure how to feel about the movies tho since they decided to skip floor 2,3 and a huge chuck of 4 aswell. Seems like missing the point of the Progressive Series if you start skipping floors again.

ADJUDICATE • 11 months ago

Its fine its not like you can show everything in the progressive movie and in case that happened then the progressive movie will be too long of have many parts and it'll get boring for the viewers at some point.

Typecero • 11 months ago

The irony of this comment is that the Progressive series was made to be more in-depth.

It’s a better Kirito story, a better Asuna story, a better worldbuilding story, hell even a better character building story…

The author specifically wanted to do a more detailed floor-by-floor adventure. He even made the Kirito and Asuna relationship that much more interesting…

But nah, we just gonna gut all that and make it a solo story instead…

Truth • 4 weeks ago

More in depth doesnt mean boring or drawn out. Theres not always a story to tell EVERY SINGLE FLOOR....

muuuH • 11 months ago

Thats a valid point you bring up. Since the Dark Elf Quest is meant to conclude on Floor 9 i am just wondering how the Movies want to include the missed parts, if they ever get that far and not outright act like the Quest never existed.

InnoTicket • 11 months ago

just do it like in original volumes, finish the story and that write the interludes. a whole movie just for dark elf quest that has huge timejumps and rly rly weird progression

Momonga • 11 months ago

so, in progressive kirito'll never cry over the rudolph song?!
i see this as an absolute win!

Jacman99 • 11 months ago

Bro ur pfp is sick made up of the two biggest gigachads of anime

InnoTicket • 11 months ago

i totally agree, i loved the floor 2 and 3 story especially, and dark elf quest is gonna be rly weird too :/ idk why you'd want to skip 2.5 floors if the material doesnt cover that many floors anyways so far.
any1 knows how many volumes progressive are out in total atm? i only got 1-6

muuuH • 11 months ago

i got it up to Vol 8. So you missing 2 volumes. He didnt release the 9th one yet(or rather its not even announced yet)

InnoTicket • 11 months ago

alright ty

Constandinos Andreou • 11 months ago

You can find volumes 7 and 8 online with the official translation

IzNebula • 9 months ago

It could be that the early floors up to 4 were easier floors because it was right after the guilds were formed and the alliance was created, thus making Floors 2-4 basically too easy for such a big alliance. That's my assumption. In the movies, the rift between them started to happen and thus made them have a much harder floor 5 boss due to the lack in numbers.

Poke Chan • 10 months ago

Series is gonna end up being long if he does that... and most likely budget is also a issue

Dazed • 11 months ago

So he wasn't allowed to write the way he wanted to write it?

muuuH • 11 months ago

Not Quite like that. The Author wrote SAO(Vol1) back in 2002 when he was still an unknown Amateur and wanted to enter a literary competition to make his debut. Since the page numbers for the turned in works were limited,he had to cut out and steamline quite bit of it. In the end he didnt submit SAO and uploaded it onto a Website. The only reason he continued writing SAO afterwards was that it gained quite a bit of an Fanbase back then. He entered the same literary competition
with his follow up work "Accel World" and won (2008)

Dazed • 11 months ago

Quite the talent.

LMao • 11 months ago

Not the talent honestly, But yes he is hardworking.
He admit he was immature writing at the times, couldve been prevented alot, if he was so talented.
He got alot better after accel world. It takes him 8 years to be good enough at writing LN, its also the reason Alicization writing is alot better compare to the rest, only topped by SAO progressive.

Dazed • 11 months ago

Not sure if hardwork nets you first place in a literary competition. That's why they call it a diamond in the 'rough'.

muuuH • 11 months ago

Yep but he got my respect for being able to reflect so rationally, admitting he wrote some stuff "wrong" and regretting it.

OfficialDrixMalone • 11 months ago

Thanks for the info!!

Volt Spectre • 11 months ago

Just finished season 1 yesterday,it was really great, currently im on season 2,ep 12,its very good too, then this bomb dropped

Aya Chan • 11 months ago

Did you forget to watch the first movie? XD

Hello2022 • 11 months ago

the anime that only first season is great, the rest is suc*s

Ban Tae Akiyama • 11 months ago

Gun Gale was fun too ngl

AnimeVibesYT • 11 months ago

Yeah, but alicization was good too, not as goood a original sao s1

Ayami -sama • 11 months ago

True

NetroLancer • 11 months ago

Only Alicization season 1 was good, the 2nd season took a dip.

Reisen • 11 months ago

season 2 succ. What the hell war? in the end it's a one man army. ffs.. No matter what the other do, they can't defeat the last boss. It's like having ohnoki from naruto fight in a war, no matter how many the enemy, he can just reduce all to ash.

at least with season 1, the boy lost his will and arm, the other boy dead, the girl still lost the memory. There are sacrifices when walking a tremendous hard road. Season 1 feels more like a 'war' to me.

I only watched SAO for Sugha mc cousin.

Bottom G • 11 months ago

I think you appreciate this then 222414

MeguminExplosion • 11 months ago

Asuna almost dying to a beginner monster and her expressions in this movie eclipses the whole 1st season. Death felt like it was just around the corner. Also Edgy Asuna in cloak is chefs kiss.

BunnyLuvr • 11 months ago

Well... that's because cloaks are cool xD

Ur correct.

Wort Igon • 11 months ago

Opinions are assholes. Noone wants some rando to bring theirs out without asking.
If you hink that the rest after season 1 was bad, than you probably didn't read the source material. The LN was even better in the GGO arc. It was just poorly presented in the anime adaptation.

Typecero • 11 months ago

Just so we are clear, you are referencing the one season of SAO where sexual assault did not happen to a character.

…and yet the author still had to add a suicidal character, because just having a friendly, non-“someone is gonna be murdered/raped” storyline is beyond him.
